Scenes from our first week of school - and a little before: smiles at Scott, hard work at Garden Hills, a new friend at Heritage, Ambassadors at the Bash, a parent tour at WELA, and Open House at Miles. Team,
Wow! What a way to end the first week! For those of you who weren't able to join, you missed a wedding for the ages between the district of APS and the core value of demonstrating respect for others. Our actors, led by Adrienne, Danielle, and Dawan, had the Schools and Academics team in stitches! (Oh, and in case you missed it, our team also led ALL departments in the central office satisfaction survey - 95% of school stakeholders rate us as effective or very effective. Congrats team!) Happy Tuesday! That's right - this post is a few days late! apologies. A few shout outs before we get to announcements. A huge thank you to Tiffany for all her work ensuring that Pre-K Week has been so smooth. I think this is the most enthusiasm we've ever seen across the district - our sign ups filled up so quickly and our schools have been going all out! We also got a special shout out at the Board Meeting from Chair Jason Esteves for our work reducing Pre-K vacancies as well as our efforts to support parents (with a special name check to the Parent Hiring Fair)! Those efforts involve just about everyone, so thank you all for your hard work! Also, huge shout out to Shana for her work on the district's literacy plan! Please check out the announcements below.
