From left: The curious WELA audience watching our balloon game; Ms. Douglas and some of her Boyd friends take an early morning selfie; Ms. Lockett's scholars are explorers at Cleveland! This week, I overheard an APS colleague telling an external partner, "Early learning is really a shining star for our district. I know they're still working on stuff, but I think everyone would say that is an area where things are just working." I think it can be easy for us to lose track of all the progress we are making - especially in the face of all the growth opportunities and challenges we see - so I wanted to pass along a reminder from someone who sees us from the outside!
Please review the notes below! As always, be on the lookout for a secret word. (Patrice, you won this week's drawing - swing by my office!) Additionally, please be sure to add any shout outs in the comments. Updates & Reminders:

Check out these WELA Pre-K students having a VERY good time playing with left-over balloons in Natasha's office! (From Natasha's twitter page) Everyone's favorite time of year has arrived, and enrollment is underway! While we love meeting our new families and students, this is also an exhausting time, particularly for our the teams that will be at schools every day between now and 3/21! (That's Tomika, Chanae, Patrice, Adrienne, Arian, Bridget, Sam, Chavonne, Traci, Tiffany, Monica, and Kianna!) Thanks for all that you do to ensure that our families have a positive first (or next!) experience with APS.
Given that we have enrollment, please review the following announcements in lieu of a meeting:
